Quality Assurance Automation Engineer, About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Junior Systems Administrator to join Sonatafy full-time. This role focuses on administering the IT department’s operations and systems, with additional responsibility for providing support when needed. You will be responsible for managing onboarding/offboarding, hardware and software assets, MDM, user accounts, and SaaS platforms that keep our distributed teams productive.

Quality Assurance Specialist Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute end-to-end testing, identify defects, and report findings clearly and accurately.
  • Collaborate with developers, product owners, and designers to define test strategies and ensure coverage of business requirements.
  • Participate in sprint planning, provide QA estimates, and ensure test cases align with acceptance criteria.
  • Contribute to the integration of tests into CI/CD pipelines using GitLab, supporting test execution in automated workflows.
  • Help triage and reproduce reported issues and provide clear documentation of bugs and test results.
  • Promote and apply QA best practices within Agile development teams.

Quality Assurance Specialist Required Qualifications:

  • 2–4 years of experience in Manual QA, with at least 1+ year of hands-on experience using Playwright for test automation. .
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies, software testing principles, and defect management.
  • Comfortable writing and maintaining test scripts in JavaScript/TypeScript or a similar programming language.
  • Experience working with bug tracking systems (e.g., Click Up, Jira) and version control (e.g., GitLab).
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration systems, specifically GitLab, and integrating automated tests into CI pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Quality Assurance Specialist Nice to Have:

  • Exposure to API testing, performance testing, or security validation practices.
  • Familiarity with test management platforms and cloud-based device testing services.
  • Knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS).
  • Experience tracking tasks in ClickUp.
  • iOS and Android mobile automation is a big plus.
